Principal and income is used exclusively to assist the football coach and team for expenses not otherwise covered by funds from the university.
The Martin T. Rizzo Memorial Award recognizes the football player that best exemplifies the character of Marty Rizzo, who passed away as a result of injuries sustained while playing for ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø. Selection is made by the football coaching staff.
The Tom Cook Football Alumni Award is presented to a graduating football player who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, fellowship, athletic ability, and perseverance.
The Peter J. Mazzaferro Award for Academic Achievement was established in 2005 to honor and recognize Peter Mazzaferro, associate professor emeritus of education and head football coach at ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø State University for 36 years. This award benefits the graduating senior football player with the highest cumulative grade point average.
